The relatives of teenagers missing after a tragic inferno at a establishment in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an excruciating wait for confirmed information and requesting clues about their children online.
The fire ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Circulated footage reveal the ceiling catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.
Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to formally name the victims of the fire, which claimed the lives of 40 people and injured another 119. The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his family.
The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, explained to a local newspaper that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the hospital, while his father did the same in the capital, but was unsuccessful.
"I'm living a nightmare, a horror. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. It's horrific," she told the paper.
She continued that some of his friends had been discovered with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they experienced a terrifying ordeal."
The Italy's government has said that six of its citizens have not been located.
