Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt ready to express about his deep grief.

"Enough time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced spending more time together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film, remarking that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the local authorities.

A court order issued a embargo on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "shocking" and remarked they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an adviser could have stepped in when the choice to comment on the death was made.
