Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a top government figure has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
